ABU DHABI – Poets from GCC and Arab courtiers flocked to Abu Dhabi starting last Tuesday to participate in the final audition for the fourth season of “Million’s Poet” T V competition.

The live TV competition organized by Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH) is dedicated to keep Nabati poetry alive by encouraging young talent in one of the biggest poetry competitions in the Arab world where the first winner is given a prize of AED 5 million and total prize of AED 22 million.

The jury panel will continue meeting poets in Al Raha Beach Theatre until Saturday November 7.

Part of the audition will be broadcast on Abu Dhabi TV in recorded episodes before the competition goes live in December.

Poets who are approved by the jury will be short listed to enter the 48 list of poets taking part in the competition live show.

“Abu Dhabi audition is remarkable; it is attracting poets from all over the Arab world and it is notable that lots of Saudi poets are coming to the audition on their own expense” said Sultan Al Amimi, Director of Poetry Academy at ADACH member of jury, referring to the 300 Saudi poets who were invited by ADACH to Abu Dhabi audition after canceling Jeddah audition.
