Picture reflects real story of Jenin

For US President to call such character "a man of peace" could only suggest that Sharon and Bush have same speech writer, says Lily Jamil.

Israel is fighting desperately to block a fact finding mission by the UN into Jenin, the enclosed picture may give you some idea of what they are so afraid the World will find.

The picture of the child shown buried in the rubble of Jenin, although harrowing, is only the tip of the iceberg. When the American people were attacked on September 11, everyone rallied round, everyone felt genuine sympathy.

Where was the help and sympathy when the Palestinian people were being buried alive, when they were denied, food, water and medical help for the injured and dying, directly contravening the Geneva Convention?

Israel says it has nothing to hide, it only killed terrorists, yet its fear of a fact finding mission and the picture belies this.

What happened to the Palestinians could not be termed a "war crime", as I fail to see how you can have a war when only one side has an army, when only one side has the weapons stamped "made in America". This is however a crime against humanity, and all those who collude with Israel in covering up their atrocities are as guilty as they are.

The instigator of this massacre is none other than Ariel Sharon, a man notorious for his penchant for killing Arabs, which is why he is already under investigation in Belgium for war crimes.

For the President of the United States to call such a character "a man of peace" could only suggest that Sharon and Bush have the same speech writer.

This disgraceful nonsense has to end. America's all consuming support for Israel and its abhorrent actions must surely have a limit.

Israel's terrorism is boundless, its occupation is illegal, its brutality is unconscionable. In Bush's words; "enough is enough".
