Ethiopia is not a Christian country. As per the official statistics, at least 50% the population is Muslim, writes Elias.

 
Dear Editor,

Most Ethiopian Muslims find the article US-Ethiopian Christmas Gift to Somalia portraying the Ethiopian government as Christian is offensive and insulting to their existence.

Just in case, for your information, Ethiopia is not a Christian country. As per the official statistics, at least 50% the population is Muslim, there are other statistics claims it is between 55-60% of the population is Muslim.

Prior to 1972, the Ethiopian kingdom had been claiming as a Christian nation, but the fact remains known in Ethiopian Muslim community.
