Morocco king visits police headquarters in Temara

CASABLANCA – Morocco’s King Mohammed VI visited Tuesday the headquarters of the Directorate General of Territorial Surveillance (DGST) in Temara.
The monarch inaugurated a new specialised training institute which is a security complex built as part of the development of the training system in the field of intelligence.
King Mohammed VI was informed about units of the rapid intervention group under the DGST’s control. The King also reviewed the equipment, vehicles and logistics used in response operations to deal with the dangers of the terrorist threat and the different forms of organised crime, including cross-border crime.
Morocco was a victim of terror attacks in Casablanca in 2003 and Marrakech in 2011, which killed a total of 50 people and injured dozens.
In 2017, Moroccan authorities dismantled nine "terrorist structures" and "neutralised 186 suspected terrorists," according to a recent report released by the local press. Since 2015, they had neutralised "49 structures that planned, according to the same source.
