Three US marines killed in Anbar province

 
Two Iraqi policemen killed, two wounded in roadside bomb in Baquba, north of Baghdad.

 
BAGHDAD - Three US marines were killed as a result of "enemy action" in the troubled al-Anbar province west of Baghdad on Sunday, the military said Monday.

"Three Marines assigned to I Marine Expeditionary Force were killed yesterday as a result of enemy action in the Al Anbar Province," the military said in a statement.

"Two of the Marines were killed in action; one Marine died of wounds received in action on the same day," it said.

Meanwhile, two policemen were killed and two others wounded Monday by a roadside bomb in Baquba, north of Baghdad, police said.

"The explosion occurred at 10:30 a.m. (0630 GMT) in the Mafrak headquarters as the policemen were heading toward the general hospital to donate blood to the besieged residents of Fallujah," police officer Karim Salman said.

Captain Hatem Sultan and policeman Hassan Ali were killed and two other policemen were wounded.
