Authors who are interested in writing about the Kingdom of Bahrain were invited to submit their works for publication, said a representative of Bahrain’s Ministry of Information at the London Book Fair.

“We invite anyone who wishes to publish a book related to Bahrain to submit his/her work, and after the approval of a special committee we would publish the book,” said Enas Ebrahim Al-Shaikh, Senior Public Relations Specialist at the Culture and National Heritage sector of the ministry.

Bahrain’s modest stand at the fair displayed books focusing on the country’s culture and heritage, which, according to Al-Shaikh, is what Manama is trying to promote.

Many of the books on display were published by Shaikh Ebrahim Centre for Culture and Resaerch, a Bahraini organisation concerned with promoting culture.

Shaikh Ebrahim Centre encourages authors to write about culture by publishing their works, noted Ezmiralda Kabbani, Account Manager at the centre.

Culture was the theme of the Bahraini participation at the fair.

“We had many visitors interested in Bahrain’s history and culture, and we were able to direct them to useful websites and contacts,” Al-Shaikh concluded.
