Kalima translates Nobel laureate Elias Canetti's 'Fragments'

Abu Dhabi first to translate 'Fragments' into Arabic, in recognition of Canetti's work.

ABU DHABI - Kalima, the translation project of the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritag (ADACH), announced the translation of Elias Canetti's "Fragments" into Arabic.

Canetti was the winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1981, but despite the global importance enjoyed by the late writer as a novelist, playwright and biographer, few know his important work "Fragments," which had not been published during his lifetime.

Kalima is the first to translate "Fragments" into Arabic, in recognition of the creative value of Canetti's work internationally, his reflections on various aspects of life, and his attractive writing style.

In this book, readers become acquainted with what the German critic Mikhail Char calls Canetti's "fierce look", through his fast, angry, and profound "Fragments", placing him among other influential philosophers.

The book was translated by Rachid Bou Tayeb.
