Egypt to hike LNG exports this year

Petroleum minister says Egypt aims to increase exports of liquified natural gas to 8 million tonnes this year.

ABU DHABI - Egypt aims to increase exports of liquified natural gas (LNG) to 8 million tonnes this year, petroleum minister Tarek El Molla told Skynews Arabia on Monday, adding that the country has the ability to export up to 12 million tonnes of LNG a year.

Egypt's revenue from the export of gas, petrochemicals and petroleum products will reach $19 billion this year, El Molla added on the sidelines of an industry conference in Abu Dhabi.
