EU, Egypt present MoU for a loan programme worth €4 billion

The financing comprises loans at favourable terms for Egypt, while also underpinning the delivery of a reform programme.

BRUSSELS - EU's Economic Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis and Egypt's Planning Minister Rania Al-Mashat presented a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for a second 4 billion euro ($4.66 billion) financing, the EU said on Wednesday.

The financing comprises loans at favourable terms for Egypt, while also underpinning the delivery of a reform programme, the EU said in a statement.
