Five Hamas members killed in Israeli attack on Doha

The Palestinian militant group says Israel has failed in what it calls an attempt to assassinate the group's ceasefire negotiation team.

CAIRO - The Palestinian militant group Hamas said on Tuesday that five of its members had been killed in an Israeli attack in Doha, including the son of Hamas's exiled Gaza chief Khalil al-Hayya.

But it said Israel had failed in what it called an attempt to assassinate the group's ceasefire negotiation team.

Earlier, Hamas political bureau member Suhail al-Hindi told Al Jazeera TV that the group's top leadership had survived the Israeli attack.
