Ibn El Farouk’s solo exhibition “Informe” held in Paris

The work of the experimental, sensitive Moroccan photographer is anchored in the unpredictable and the unexpected of exploration, in thoughts and emotions, images and original colours within his studio, in Bois-Colombes.

PARIS – Moroccan photographer Ibn El Farouk is holding a solo exhibition themed “Informe” in the French capital from March 29 to May 8.

The exhibition is a crossing at the confluence of photography and experimentation finding its culmination in abstraction.

At the crossroads of matter and spaces, Informe is part of an in-between. This traveling exhibition, the idea of which evolved in concert between the city of Bois-Colombes (Greater Paris) and the Shart gallery in Casablanca, is presented in the Salle Jean-Renoir.

The exhibition will then be held in Casablanca from May 26 to June 25.

Ibn El Farouk is a ferryman who probes, revives, grinds the limits of photographic material. He structures their compositions, born of the improbable, in order to shake up codes and the unconscious through a new aesthetic. He poses new perspectives through a fruitful, incessant creative process.

The artist summons other plastic elements and evokes other referents and imaginations by giving a new dimension to his work. He transcends borders and territories.

The work of the experimental, sensitive photographer is anchored in the unpredictable and the unexpected of exploration, in thoughts and emotions, images and original colours within his studio, in Bois-Colombes, deploying all the way to the Casablanca metropolis.

The fiery red of Mark Rothko, the dazzling yellow of Monique Friedmann, the enigmatic black of Malevitch unfold in the continuity of his production. Through his large formats, Ibn El Farouk merges materiality and immateriality.

Informe organizes the balance of the photographic essence, harmonizes its abstraction and its philosophical identity.
