Iran’s jailed activist Mohammadi wins Nobel Peace Prize

The Iranian rights activist has been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for her right against the oppression of women in Iran and her fight to promote human and freedom for all.

OSLO – The Nobel Peace Prize was awarded Friday to Iranian rights activist Narges Mohammadi for her right against the oppression of women in Iran and her fight to promote human and freedom for all, said the Nobel Peace Prize committee.

Mohammadi was arrested in 2015 and jailed for 10 years for "forming and managing an illegal group."
