Oil revenue in Libya reaches $20.69 billion in 2023

The central bank says Libya's oil revenue reached 99.1 billion Libyan dinars in 2023, compared to 105.4 billion Libyan dinars in 2022.

Tripoli - Libya's oil revenue reached 99.1 billion Libyan dinars ($20.69 billion) in 2023, compared to 105.4 billion Libyan dinars in 2022, the country's central bank said on Sunday. 

Meanwhile, Libya's National Oil Company (NOC) on Sunday declared force majeure at its Sharara oilfield on the back of protests.

The force majeure is effective as of Sunday at the field which can produce up to 300,000 barrels per day of oil.

Negotiations are ongoing to resume production as soon as possible, a statement by the company said.
