Qatar central bank governor says dollar peg is appropriate

Sheikh Bandar says Qatar doesn't see immediate need to change the policy.

DOHA - Qatar's currency's is pegged to the US dollar and the policy is appropriate for the country's economy, Central Bank Governor Sheikh Bandar bin Mohammed bin Saoud al-Thani told a conference on Wednesday in Doha.

"We believe this policy is appropriate for Qatar's economy and we don't see an immediate need to change that policy," al-Thani said at the Qatar Economic Forum, organised by Bloomberg.
