Suez Canal expects revenue of $8 billion in current fiscal year

CAIRO - Egypt's Suez Canal expects revenue to reach $8 billion in its current fiscal year, the chairman of the authority managing the canal, Osama Rabie, said on Monday.

Over 22,000 ships crossed the channel carrying a total of 1,320 million net tons between July 1, 2021 and June 30, 2022.

Egypt's fiscal year runs from July 1 to June 30.
