Oud orchestra at Abu Dhabi's Bait Al Oud

 
Bait Al Oud Al Arabi to organize its second annual concert at Abu Dhabi's Al Dhafra theatre.

 
ABU DHABI - Bait Al Oud Al Arabi (The Arabian Oud House), founded and sponsored by Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH), will organize its second annual concert on Thursday evening at Al Dhafra theatre in the Cultural Foundation.

The concert titled "Mural of life... Mural of dream" to be submitted by the House Orchestra conducted by Oud Master Naseer Shamma in addition to number of outstanding works and solo performance on number of oriental instruments.

“Establishing the Arab Oud House give art creations new horizons and adds high quality to ADACH many cultural projects," said Abdullah Al-Amiri, Director of Culture and Arts Department in ADACH.

“We are proud of the achievements of today's Arab Oud House in Abu Dhabi, two years after its inauguration, and we are now approaching the goal to prepare a generation of musicians, who are able to deal with the oud and read various musical compositions, played accompanied on this instrument professionally,” Al Amiri added.

Naseer Shamma director of the House extended his joy to present this concert with the Orchestra saying “great works starts from a dream.”

“Since childhood I was dreaming to see the oud in the hands of everybody, as I grew up my dream grew up with me too; I think music is able to control the self and refine the soul and bring awareness to all,” he said.

“It was a dram that came true like any dreams we hold to with trust and that how oud house expanded; after two years many students have my same childhood dream and here we are with students have dreams bigger than mine and committed to hold on to their loved instrument and be creative” he added.

Shamma also invited the public to attend the graduation ceremony of the first graduate of the Arab Oud House, Ali Obeid,UAE national- in the presence of a specialized committee, next Friday in November 6 at the headquarters of the Arab Oud House located at Al Nahyan Camp, at eight in the evening. Ali Obeid will perform different oud schools as well as accompanying other instruments.
