UAE president, Israeli PM discuss boosting ties

Sheikh Mohamed affirms his country's willingness to augment efforts to further develop ties with Israel in a phone call with Netanyahu.

DUBAI - United Arab Emirates' president Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke on the phone and discussed strengthening ties, UAE state media reported on Tuesday.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed described both countries' relations as promising and affirmed his country's willingness to augment efforts to further develop these ties.

The UAE agreed to normalize relations with Israel in a US-brokered deal in 2020, the first of the Abraham Accords that Israel eventually concluded with four Arab nations. Since then, the two countries have boosted cooperation in a number of economic sectors.
