American YouTuber Ms. Rachel holds exhibition for Gaza’s children in New York
NEW YORK - Popular children's educator and YouTuber Rachel Accurso - widely known as Ms. Rachel - has curated an exhibition and sale featuring original artworks created by children in Gaza in a heartfelt initiative to amplify the voices and creativity of young Palestinians amid ongoing hardship.
Titled "Colours That Survived", the exhibition opened for a one-day in-person viewing on Tuesday at Chelsea’s Caelum Gallery in New York City, showcasing powerful drawings that blend resilience, hope, and the stark realities faced by children living under prolonged conflict and siege.
Additional works from the "Colours That Survived" collection capture dreams of home, family, and peace.
Ms. Rachel, whose educational YouTube channel boasts over 18 million subscribers and billions of views, has been a vocal advocate for children in conflict zones, particularly in Gaza. She has previously featured stories like that of three-year-old Rahaf, a double amputee from an airstrike, and worn a custom gown embroidered with Gaza children's drawings to the 2025 Glamour Women of the Year Awards.
“I am forever changed by connecting with these incredible children from Gaza,” Ms. Rachel said in a press release.
“They share their powerful art, stories, and hopes for the future with such courage in the face of unimaginable hardship,” she added.
The project is organized in collaboration with the producers of the 2025 film The Voice of Hind Rajab, which dramatizes the tragic story of six-year-old Hind Rajab, killed by Israeli forces in 2024.
It also partners with Artists Support, a nonprofit that facilitates art sales for charitable causes. Limited-edition prints (20 per artwork) are priced at $200 each, with 100% of proceeds going directly to the young Palestinian artists.
Following the in-person event, the works remain available for online purchase through Artists Support until January 30.
Clara Zevi, co-founder of Artists Support, praised the works.
“The drawings demonstrate astonishing concentration and creativity... They were made by children who have been living under siege for over two years,” Said Zevi.
The initiative arrives as estimates indicate tens of thousands of children in Gaza have been killed or injured since the escalation of conflict in 2023.
Ms. Rachel's efforts continue her commitment to early childhood development and humanitarian advocacy, emphasizing that every child deserves safety, education, and the chance to express themselves.
Whether through joyful songs or poignant fundraisers, Ms. Rachel reminds audiences worldwide: children everywhere are deserving of compassion, protection, and a voice. This exhibition not only raises vital funds but also ensures that Gaza's young artists are seen, heard, and supported on a global stage.
