Anti-Semitist video of Algerian army resurfaces on social media

American lobbyist David Keene is lobbying for Algeria whose army is anti-Semitist.

LONDON - An old video of the Algerian army calling for the killing of Jews resurfaced on social media, embarrassing the Algerian government which is trying to portray itself as peace broker in the region.

The video, which was broadcast by the Israeli news channel I24 on December 23, 2015, reinforces Algeria’s latest resentment against Morocco after the North African kingdom announcement it would normalise ties with Israel.

“David Keene, the chief lobbyist for Algiers in Washington, justify to the US media and senators that the Algerian military is calling on the Jews to be flayed and skinned?, asked Morocco’s news website Le360.

Algerian authorities issued on December 18 a circular to all its imams to denounce during Friday sermons Morocco’s deal resume ties with Israel which was brokered by US President Donald Trump.

Algeria is still struggling to swallow Trump’s recognition last week of Morocco’s sovereignty over Western Sahara.

US Ambassador to the United Nations Kelly Craft sent a copy of Trump's proclamation recognizing "that the entire Western Sahara territory is part of the Kingdom of Morocco" to UN chief Antonio Guterres and the Security Council on Tuesday.

The proclamation has dealt a serious blow to Algeria’s lobbying efforts and multi-million dollars spent in the US against Morocco regarding the Western Sahara file.

Algeria’s defence of the Palestinian cause does not require its army to unleash chants against the Jews, which had been part of the Algerian population for over twenty centuries.

Algerian Judaism is seen by many Algerians as “almost completely closed to Zionist activity,” which most likely explains the Algerian army’s anti-Semitist chants.

Kill the Jews

The Algerian soldiers’ motivational chants call for the murder of the Jews as they march.

“Oh Arabs, sons of Arabs. March and point your guns at the Jews, to kill them, shoot them down. skin them,” chanted the troops.

American Lobbyist David Keene did not expect Trump’s proclamation when Algeria renewed his lobbying contract in May 2020, for a sum of around 30,000 euros per month, according to Jeune Afrique.

In an opinion article published December 15 on The Washington Times, Keene described Trump’s deal with Morocco as “immoral and shamefully cynical.”

The question is: How Keene will explain to American politicians that the country he is desperately defending has an anti-Semitist army that calls for the killing of the Jews?
