Bessent says will urge G7 to follow sanctions regime on Iran
The US Treasury Secretary says he will call on G7 finance ministers to follow a sanctions regime in order to keep financing away from what he describes as Iran's "war machine."

PARIS - United States Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said on Monday that he would call on G7 finance ministers to follow a sanctions regime in order to keep financing away from what Bessent described as Iran's "war machine."
Bessent added that last week's trip by a US delegation to China, led by President Donald Trump, was "very successful."
European Economic Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis said on Monday that the G7 finance ministers' meeting in Paris would discuss the ongoing conflicts in Ukraine and Iran, and he reaffirmed the need to open the Strait of Hormuz as soon as possible.
