MARRAKECH - The Marrakech Short Film Festival (MSFF) will kickstart its fifth edition in the ochre Moroccan city from September 26 to October 1.
French-Moroccan actor Assaad Bouab will preside the festival’s jury, which includes Jane Kim, Producer of Industry Programming at the Toronto International Film Festival, and Rubén Corral, Head of Programming at ZINEBI Bilbao.
Screenings will be shown in several venues including the historic El Badii Palace, The Folk, Cyber Park, the French Institute and the Star Center in Jemaa el-Fna.
The festival will hold workshops, public talks and encounters with professionals and experts from the film industry
While not as globally prominent as the short film section of the larger Marrakech International Film Festival, the MSFF has carved out its own niche. Now in its fifth edition, it has established itself as a crucial platform for grassroots filmmaking, focusing on nurturing Moroccan and North African talent while also opening a window to global independent short cinema.
