Mazayen Competition of King Abdulaziz Falconry Festival 2025 kicks off in Riyadh

The King Abdulaziz Falconry Festival 2025 includes both Milwah and Mazayen contests, with total prizes exceeding SAR38 million.

RIYADH - The Mazayen competition of the King Abdulaziz Falconry Festival 2025 began Monday at the Saudi Falcons Club headquarters in Malham, north of Riyadh.

The competition will run from January 5 to 8.

The King Abdulaziz Falconry Festival 2025 includes both Milwah and Mazayen contests, with total prizes exceeding SAR38 million, and features participation from falconers from within the Kingdom and abroad.

The Al-Milwah Race, a thrilling 400-meter lure race testing falcons' speed and agility, and the Al-Mazayen Beauty Contest, where birds are judged on their appearance, poise and pedigree.

Categories in the Milwah include various falcon types such as Hurr Farkh, Shaheen Farkh, and Gyr Pure, with heats for local professionals, owners, and international elites.

The event is recognized as the world's largest gathering of falcons, drawing participants and spectators from across the globe to celebrate the art of falconry - a practice deeply rooted in Arabian history.
