Morocco’s king to deliver speech to his nation

King Mohammed VI will deliver a speech to his nation on Saturday night as he marks the 22nd anniversary of his accession to the throne.

RABAT – Morocco’s King Mohammed VI will deliver on Saturday night a speech to his nation on the occasion of the 22nd anniversary of his accession to the throne.

The royal speech will be aired on TV and radio channels at 9 p.m., the Ministry of Royal Household, Protocol and Chancellery said in a statement.

On July 24, the Ministry announced that all activities and ceremonies planned on the throne anniversary had been postponed due to the continuation of preventive measures imposed by the evolution of the health situation exacerbated by the coronavirus pandemic.

The monarch has granted his pardon on this occasion to 1,243 people sentenced by the different Moroccan courts, said a statement by the ministry of Justice.
