Morocco announces record-breaking passenger traffic in 2025

Morocco welcomed 36.4 million air passengers in 2025 thanks to the consolidated growth in flows recorded with Europe, the Middle and Far East, North and South America combined, Africa and the Maghreb countries.

RABAT - Air transport activity in Morocco recorded a record-breaking passenger traffic, which reached 36.4 million passengers in 2025, according to the Directorate of Studies and Financial Forecasts (DEPF).

This record figure represents a performance of +11.2%, after a 21% strengthening at the end of 2024, says the DEPF in its recent economic outlook.

International air traffic increased by 10.8% in 2025, driven by the consolidated growth in flows recorded with Europe (+9.9%), the Middle and Far East (+16.4%), North and South America combined (+24.9%), Africa (+11.4%) and the Maghreb countries (+8.8%), the same source said.

As for passenger traffic at the national level, it increased by 13.9%. As for air freight traffic, it increased by 5.3% at the end of 2025.

Regarding port activity, commercial traffic of 95.6 million tons was handled in the ports managed by the National Ports Agency (ANP) at the end of November 2025, up 5.7%, following the strengthening of import traffic by 4.6%, cabotage by 45.8% and export traffic by 4.6%.

Similarly, passenger traffic increased within these ports by 4.5% to around 2.3 million passengers. Regarding the cruise activity, it recorded an increase of 51%, with the influx of 341,481 cruise passengers.

In addition, the value added of the transport and warehousing sector increased by 3.5% in the third quarter of 2025, after a consolidation of 7.5% a year earlier.

Taking into account an increase of 4.3% in the second quarter and 4% in the first quarter of 2025, the sector's added value improved, on average, by 3.9% at the end of the first nine months of 2025, after an increase of 7.3% a year earlier.
