Tenor Zbadi closes National Festival of Popular Arts with spectacular performance
MARRAKECH - Moroccan classical singer Fouad Zbadi closed Monday the 53rd edition of the National Festival of Popular Arts (FNAP) with a spectacular performance at the Bahia Palace in Marrakech.
The tenor of classical Arab music entertained his fans with a repertoire of classical and popular Moroccan and Arab songs, including songs of Moroccan icons Abdelhadi Belkhayat and Abdelouahab Doukkali.
Zbadi’s show was a cocktail of authenticity and modernity, especially when he interacted with popular arts troupes on the scene before a packed audience.
Zbadi said he was delighted to take part in the festival for the first time, praising the Grand Atlas Association’s efforts to help preserve Morocco’s cultural heritage.
The Royal Theatre was also packed in an unusually cool evening as dozens of troupes were at the usual rendez-vous performing a plethora of songs and beats, in addition of the acrobotic show of Ouled Hmad ou Moussa.
